Playtime

PLAYTIME is a well established, popular group for the 0 – 3 year olds and their parents, grandparents or carers. It is held in the Parish Hall every Friday morning in school term time, from 9.30 – 11.30am at a charge of £2 per family and includes children’s refreshments, tea or coffee for carers. Anyone is welcome.

Our activities are most suitable for young children up to 3 years old. If you have older children, do please think carefully whether Playtime is the best place for them and the other smaller children.

We begin with free play, the hall being divided into two main areas:
one for quiet play including book corner and jigsaw table
one for active and imaginative play.
There is also a paved area outside which may be used, weather permitting.

At 10.35 we clear the toys away so that we can share a biscuit, news and celebrate birthdays.

At 11.00 we gather for a musical session with percussion instruments, action songs and puppets. We encourage everyone including parents and carers to join in the music making and the songs. At the end there is an optional story session.

At Christmas and Easter we mark these festivals with a simple ceremony.

To maintain a safe and comfortable number attending, you may be placed on a waiting list.

We hope that you find Playtime at Saint Margaret’s as stimulating and enjoyable as we do.
